Manchester United
History
The club was founded in 1878 by workers from the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway as Newton Heath LYR Football Club. In 1902, the club changed its name to Manchester United after nearly going bankrupt. In 1910, the club moved to its current home, Old Trafford, which is the third-largest football ground in the United Kingdom which is based in the North West of England.
Achievements
Manchester United has won the English top-division league championship 20 times, the FA Cup 12 times, and the European Cup / UEFA Champions League three times, 1968, 1999 and 2008.
In 1968, Manchester United became the first English club to win the European Cup, now known as the Champions League.
